Locked Out, Need Sawzall- Gratitude Day 30

Never thought I'd be grateful for a sawzall, if you aren't familiar with that it's
an electric saw that cuts through almost anything.

Well, Sunday we got home after spending the weekend in Mankato helping the Lindberg's
pack up for their big move from Mankato.

Some how the front door handle was locked which we never do, instead we lock the dead bolt and don't have a key for the door handle part and adding to the problem, the back door top door latch was locked.

So it is safe to say we were LOCKED OUT.

No key to get in the front door, we could get the back door unlocked but it would only open not even an inch as it was stuck on the top latch.

What can you do when you get locked out?

Well  first you laugh a little bit, then you say a few curse words, then you dance around because you
really have to pee, then you take off a few window screens,  you check to see if you can climb in a window but all of those are latched so people don't rob you, but that becomes a problem
when you are trying to break into your own house.

Then after a little thought you decide, "hey wait! I can get into the garage and I have this really sharp
tool that can cut stuff."
So Peter gets the extension cord and the sawzall and cuts the thick metal latch in two that is securing the back door.

No one in the neighborhood even noticed that we broke into our own house.

I'm glad we didn't have to break a window and that I made it to the bathroom just in time.

So that's the point when I realized that I am grateful for sawzalls and other power tools, "tools
are machines that do a job," as I used to teach my Kindergarten class.

I'm grateful and thankful to God that tools
can both fix things and get you out of tough situations.

No more top latch on the back door.
